Clear, 82° Windy

“It is not the destination where you end up but the mishaps

and memories you create along the way.”

Arrived a little later than expected as we were having a great visit with Jeff and Mindy so it was hard to leave, thanks for a wonderful twenty four hours hanging out and having a wonderful time seeing ya’ll again.  By the time we stopped for the Florida Sun Pass and made it through the South Florida traffic it was about 9:30 pm before the RV was set up and functional again.  It was a little warm overnight so the air conditioner made its first appearance on the trip.  Slept like a baby last night.

There was a nice little thunder shower passing through about two in the morning for about thirty minutes which added to the restful sleep and the morning was sunny, breezy, and in the eighties, so nice.  Coffee was on but before I could get a full cup down noticed a slight problem when I looked at the gauges for the different systems on the RV.  Fresh water was about ¾ full, propane 1/3 full, gray water (from sink and shower) ½ full and the one I did not expect since I had emptied it when we arrived last night, holding tank (black water from toilet) ¾ full.  What?  That can’t be right since that was the first thing I did last night.  I did use the bathroom before I went to bed last night and I know I’m full of crap sometimes but I know I did not fill up the tank.

Upon further investigation into a crappy situation (pun intended) I realized that the sanitary wipes used do not break down (apart) like RV toilet paper so there was a clog down in the bottom of the waste pipe below the toilet.  Grabbing a long plastic spoon (we won’t cook with that one anymore) I started to work my way down to the clog.  Yes I did have on gloves and up came some nasty matter, and then some shredded paper, more nasty stuff then the first of several wipes.  It was not clearing easily so I went outside to get a long tube (like a long straw) so I could penetrate the clog and get the water level to drop so I could see to work.  Blue water is not fun so it emptied and I could clear things out.

Lesson learned, no butt wipes into the loo!  It has to be added to the hazardous waste basket from now on.

After a good hand sanitizing it was back to a wonderful cup of coffee.  It was too early in the morning to have to deal with such crap before the proper amount of coffee is ingested to start the day.
